Read my short stories (fiction):
My first published translation published by Tulika Books (India) in 2017 was of a children's bilingual book where I translated from English to Bengali: One and Many by Indu Sreekumar.
As sub-editor for one of the premier news channels in India, NDTV.com, I used to create photo galleries with accompanying text for their micro-page dedicated to environmental issues. Sometimes, these galleries needed creation out of a breaking story, for instance the 26/11 terrorist attack that happened in Mumbai in 2011. Please find below samples of my writing that found a place on the green.ndtv.com micro-page, and also as part of gallery based on the 26/11 terrorist attack. The texts written were very specific to the images chosen for a particular topic. While I have not been able to reproduce the images here, the written pieces have been separated by asterisks to mark off where a short narrative ended and another started. The gallery created for the Mumbai 26/11 posed the challenge for me as a writer: I did not only have to keep up with the facts of the story as it unfolded, but also had to create a narrative out of the tragedy that was.
Given below are links to some other original content pieces.
As part of the same company, I also wrote feature pieces and columns on various topics like Christmas, the ban on smoking, and Republic Day. Find below some of those writing sample
