Recommendations
I have worked closely with Rinita over the past year. She was a student in my graduate seminar in history of the book in the spring of 2015, worked last summer as a research assistant for the Piers Plowman Electronic Archive, of which I am co-director, and this past fall was enrolled in my graduate seminar on Chaucer. As such, I know her very well, and I recommend her with enthusiasm and with confidence in her many abilities.
Rinita is an accomplished student who seeks out every available opportunity for growing as a scholar and a person. It was because of her demonstrated capacity to work diligently and carefully as a student that I made special arrangements with my department to offer her a position as a research assistant on the Piers Plowman Electronic Archive last summer. This project presents many challenges to the novice, as it contains transcriptions of medieval texts encoded in XML and requires the ability to read medieval handwriting and/or early printed texts. As such, it is difficult for me to find help. Rinita is such a quick study, however, that I found that I could teach her even very complex things and she would remember them after the first time. Within days she was producing transcriptions that will be used in forthcoming editions. And I soon found that she could be relied on to tackle all sorts of tasks; in addition to transcription and XML markup, she conducted a thorough quality check and assessment of our website, completed original research on a 16th-century printer of Piers Plowman, advised on the development of new logos and graphic elements, and more. And managing her was a true joy, as she struck the perfect balance between asking for clarification when needed and working independently most of the time. Because I knew that I would be traveling much of the summer, it was important to me to hire an assistant who was self-motivated and self-directed, and Rinita did not disappoint. She was able to manage herself and produce more finished work than I had hoped during stretches when I was out of town.
Because of her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for learning on the job, I recommend her Rinita highly and without reservation!

It is rare indeed to come across someone who can consistently garner excellent feedback throughout a broad range of clients and personalities—that is just what I have found to be the case with Rinita, though. I have had the pleasure of training and working with Rinita in her internship at J&J Editorial for the spring 2016 semester. In this capacity, she shadowed a variety of publishing clients and trained extensively on ScholarOne and in blinded peer review selection. Everyone she worked with had high praise for her attitude, attention, and work ethic. A diligent worker, she is studious in following directions and asks detailed questions. Rinita is a hard worker who was always ready to take on the next project and devote her full attention to it. She has a passion for language and professionalism, plus she always has a good attitude about her work. Rinita would be a wonderful addition to any team looking for someone with high attention to detail and dedication to the quality of their work.

Rinita Banerjee was a student of G.D.Birla Centre for Education (a unit of Ashok Hall Group of Schools) for sixteen years and is known to me since her admission to the school. But it was during her four years of high school while I was her mentor and guide during our association with activities organized by Alliance Francaise and the French embassy in Kolkata, India, that I came to know her more closely: as a diligent worker and an exceptional student, both in scholastic and non-scholastic achievements. For over four years she participated in "French Nightingale," a singing competition in French which gathered participants from several international schools in Kolkata and also the Alliance Francaise, and continued to stand among the top three winners in the competition in all those years. Rinita was also involved with the Kolkata chapter of the school SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth) helping with the arrangement of performances by well-known Indian Classical vocalists and dancers, emphasizing her sensibility to national integration and international understanding. Her interpersonal skills while working independently or in group settings, assuming duties with great sense of responsibility and responding to suggestions and directions as student and class representative while being consistent with her curricular commitments - these attributes made Rinita the representative for the students' council and a highly appreciated member of the school.
As is evident in her social service activities among many, that involved teaching economically disadvantaged children at a non-governmental organization and also at an organization under Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, as part of her days in college, shows her compassion and sensitivity towards the outside world. Her experience as an editor dealing with content online and in print has been a commendable addition to Rinita's skills in writing, editing and, translating as to edit one requires chiseling out nuances of language, and understanding the differences in what makes a certain kind of rhetorical organization work better than others. To be able to edit translations also requires a balanced knowledge of what works literally and what does idiomatically. Rinita possesses these sensibilities in abundance and as I observe her writing and her own translation of her one of her grandfather's novellas which she is keen to publish, I think working in an environment which allows her to practice these skills will only prove to be an enhancing and valuable experience for her. Modest and undemonstrative, Rinita has the ability to interact and communicate effectively and master new concepts which adds to her maturity. She is an excellent student of psychology, literature, and writes with natural fluency in more than two languages; she is very sensitive to style.
